Getting Trough Valentine’s Day with Anxiety

It is that time of the year again, Valentine’s Day! Couples giving each other presents, PDA everyone we look and the other constant reminders that we may be alone.

Brighten up, if you are single during Valentine’s Day, focus on things that make you happy. Treat yourself to a nice time and buy yourself candy, flowers or whatever you want because you have to be the one who loves yourself the most. You can engage in activites that will focus your mind else where such as; watching your favorite program, reading a novel, playing games, yoga and so on.

If you have a special someone to spend Valentine’s Day with, do not feel pressured to do something to impress them. Be kind and caring and show them how much you love them, however, do not stress about expensive gifts. Stressful things like this can trigger your anxiety. The last thing we want are anxiety attacks on Valentine’s Day. As long as the gift comes from the heart that is all that should matter to your significant other. Try relaxing activites that can also be romantic like aeromatheraphy yoga or massages. You can also do things that make the heart race like jogging or skating together.

Have a wonderful Valentine’s Day, you are loved!
